Copper Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 5 very thick stems. Each stem is gray, and is covered in thousands of rigid copper spines. The spherical body is lime or olive, and is covered in lots of fine, blood red, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid copper petals and a cyan central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like garlic.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the copper flesh is slimy, and the dark grey sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
