Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 63 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, slanted stems covered in paper-thin, smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, long, narrow, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are purple and peach, delicate and fuzzy.

It produces thousands of large, sky blue flowers with circular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like musk. In late winter it forms giantcaramel berries.
