Spined Slate Succulent

This massive leaf succulent grows up to 148 feet (45.1 meters) tall. The perforated stem is lime green and silver, and is covered in thousands of flexible vibrant red spines. The stumpy leaves are slate with brown tips. Thick bunches of them grow on thin, burgundy branches that are long and thin. The leaves are frail, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with brilliant green petals that gradient shift to caramel on the outer edge. The central disk is slate grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with 21 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like warm cookies.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the white flesh is sticky, and the beige sap is thin.
