Azure Heartflower

This huge flower grows up to 12.3 feet (3.8 meters) tall. Its yellow stem is wispy, and the tiny, green leaves are wispy with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 2 to 8 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 36 cm (14.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally azure; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 23 tightly layered, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like chocolate, and it has copious amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.
