Burgundy Vine

This big vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 68 feet (20.7 meters) and growing as high as 117 feet (35.7 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 3 years for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1.5 feet (46 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The long, tapering, sticky leaves reach up to 2.1 feet (64 cm) in length. They are found in gold and grey varieties, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thousands of large bright orange flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of tiny berries.
