Amaranthine Pine?

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 52 feet (15.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in delicate, rough, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of tiny, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are purple and azure.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, amber blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like varnish.

In early autumn it produces large, 7 pointed fruit. The smooth light grey skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft brown flesh is spicy and salty and dry. The beige seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
