Crimson Spiralvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This big flower grows up to 4.0 feet (1.2 meters) tall. Its crimson stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, pale orange or dark brown leaves are spiral with tattered edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 54 cm (21.3 inches) wide, with copper petals and a copper central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. They are very delicate.

It has a soft scent that smells like new books, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
