Copper Azure Flower
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its red stem is very thin and splits into several branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, copper leaves are slender, pointed with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.
Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are copper on the underside and azure on the top. The flower head is made up of 9 petals in raised layers. They are hardy.
It has a strong scent that smells like cheap aftershave, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
