Clinging Embervine

This big flower grows up to 4.1 feet (1.2 meters) tall. Its red stem is very thick, and the giant, orange-yellow leaves are needle-like with serrated edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 8 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 56 cm (22.0 inches) wide, with orange petals that gradient shift to indigo on the outer edge. The central disk is orange. The flower head is largely flat with 42 raised round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has the faintest scent that smells like rainy days, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
