Clinging Copperpine

This large tree grows up to 85 meters (278.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 84 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is silver.

The branches trail down towards the ground, covered with handfuls of large, pink-red needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces small, blood red seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
