Burgundy Knobbrush

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in very thick, knobbly, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of large, pleated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in dark grey and pink varieties, flexible and fuzzy.

It produces lots of small, azure flowers with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like pepper. In early summer it forms medium-sizedsilver, spiky-shelled seeds.
