Twistvine

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in fine, waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with copious amounts of tiny, lime green needles. The needles themselves are resistant.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, washed-out green seed pods.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
