Firevine

This small bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 8 feet (2.4 meters) and growing as high as 22 feet (6.7 meters).

It takes 11 months for the intense orange or olive stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are hard and brittle.

The very thin, rough leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are azure and magenta, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces several small hazel flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a handful of tiny fruits.
