Conifruit Tree

This giant fruit tree grows up to 75 feet (22.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in very thick, silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow.

The numerous branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of giant, fan-like leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are pink and brown.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, azure blossoms with fan-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like grass cuttings.

In early winter it produces small, broad, flat fruit. The rubbery light grey skin is tough and inedible, and the soft gentle purple flesh is sour and oily. The olive seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
