Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in waxy, black bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown-grey.

The thin clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of small, spear shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid azure or light grey, with pale purple splotches.

In early spring, it produces balls of small, azure blossoms with broad, flat petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like old books.

In mid-autumn it produces , perforated fruit. The crispy peach skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is extremely spicy, and the crunchy brown flesh is extremely spicy and very dry. The beige seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
