Burgundy Moorland Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.
