Clinging Blossom
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thick and straight, and the huge, light brown or blood red leaves are dark brown on the underside and are wispy with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
2 to 4 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with petals that are generally bronze; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.
It has a weak scent that smells like soap, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
