Climbing Caramelvine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 16 feet (4.9 meters) and growing as high as 75 feet (22.9 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 3 months for the orange-yellow stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and gnarled.

The spear shaped, crispy leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are generally black, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the vine produces large amounts of tiny caramel flowers.
