Copperleaf Turquoise

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its red stem is very thin, and the tiny, copper leaves are long, narrow with jagged edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

3 to 8 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with petals that are turquoise at the sides and blue at the center. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like faeces, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for making strong rope
Before maturity, it can grow 0 per day.
The sap causes severe allergic reactions.
