Clinging Willow

This colossal shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, wonky stems covered in hard, knobbly, silver bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short, thin and wispy with dozens of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of giant, perforated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are generally ashy green, tough and soft.

It produces handfuls of small, pastel yellow flowers with pleated petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like lavender. In early winter it forms medium-sizedhazel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
