Abyssal Blueberry Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, cracked, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with very large amounts of large, very narrow and elongated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and muted purple.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, caramel blossoms with 5 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like soap.

In mid-summer it produces very large, stiff, pointed fruit. The hairy aquamarine skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy blue flesh is spicy and powdery. The crimson seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
