Spiralwood

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in delicate, silky, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with small amounts of tiny, silver needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces small, slate, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
