Caramel Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is bold red and deep green, and is covered in large amounts of rigid caramel spines. The spherical body is yellow-green, and is covered in hundreds of fine, beige, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 39 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are caramel at the sides and cyan at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of handfuls of raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten eggs.

The cactus's skin is thin, the turquoise flesh is sticky, and the brown sap is thin.
