Cyan Mossflower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) tall. Its orange stem is very thin and splits into 3 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the miniature, moss green leaves are finger-like with rounded edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 8 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are generally cyan; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like damp, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
