Burgundy Spiral Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainy mountain ranges, On trees, and In bogs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is overwhelmingly rigid; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
