Emerald Bog Moss

This grey moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In bogs, and On rotten logs.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very durable.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
