Amber Spine Succulent

This giant caudiciform grows up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) tall. The pleated stem is lime green, and is dotted with small brown spines. The wavy, brown trunk can grow to as much as 30 feet (9.1 meters) in diameter at the top. Its orange branches are long and thick and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The thick bunches of serrated-edged, thin leaves are moss green with olive tips. They are frail, and take little effort to detach.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are sky blue in the center, crimson in the middle and hazel at the edges grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 38 tightly layered narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the amber flesh is sticky, and the cyan sap is thin.
