Cinnamon Blossom Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 58 feet (17.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in hard, silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The branches are short and thick and are covered with handfuls of small, perforated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either lilac, or blood red with lime patches.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, dark grey blossoms with 7 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late autumn it produces tiny, spherical fruit. The fuzzy bright yellow skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sweet and spicy, and the crunchy blood red flesh is sweet and syrupy. The grey seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
