Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 20 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has many very thick, straight stems covered in paper-thin, waxy, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with handfuls of large, very thick, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either aquamarine or hazel, with olive zig-zags, flimsy and leathery.
In early spring it produces a handful of small, vibrant green flowers with slender, pointed petals. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like pine needles.
It blooms only at night.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
