Crimson Bog Moss

This pale red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs.
It is huge, growing up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
