Cherry Needleflower

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its beige stem is very thick and straight, and the tiny, blue leaves are needle-like with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Many small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are red at the sides and ashy orange at the center. The flower head is made up of 56 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like cherry, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
