Caramel Vine

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 28 feet (8.5 meters)0.

It takes 20 months for the caramel stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are hard and brittle.

The fan-like, rough leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are found in cream and bronze varieties, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the bine produces large amounts of large caramel flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of tiny seed pods.
