Waterstem Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short, lime green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The cylindrical stalks grow in thin clumps that are sturdy and flexible.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, magenta puff.

During the mid-summer, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few large grains.

The leaves are high in natural sugars.
It is often home to a particular bird species.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
