Clingshade

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 186 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several thick, slanted stems covered in rough, light gray bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, very thin, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid green with gold edges, delicate and fuzzy.

In mid-spring it produces a thick sheet of small, lilac blossoms with V-shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like rainy days.

In late winter small V-shaped fruits ripen. The soft cyan skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft black flesh is spicy and juicy. The beige seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
