Clinging Violet

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stems grow in bunches of 7 and are thick with a curved tip, and the miniature, gray-green leaves are long, tapering with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Several small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with florescent purple petals on the lower layer and violet petals decorated with gold dots on the inner layer. The central disk is green. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 46 raised, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like garlic, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
