Aquacora

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is thick, and the huge, brown leaves are shield-shaped with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 1 to 5 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide, with solid turquoise petals decorated with bright red lines and a cyan central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has a delicate scent that smells like a newborn baby, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
