Copperstar Flower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This large flower grows up to 5.3 feet (1.6 meters) tall. Its copper stem is thin and straight, and the miniature, red leaves are dark brown on the underside and are very narrow and elongated with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
2 to 8 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with pink petals that gradient shift to copper on the outer edge. The central disk is lime. The flower head is shaped like a star with 57 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has a delicate scent that smells like misty mornings, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
