Clinging Copperbark

This huge shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 129 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous flexible, wavy stems covered in thick, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, wide, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally peach, flimsy and clammy.

In late spring it produces many balls of small, gold flowers with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like lavender.
