Vine Oak

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 70 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in wrinkled, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.

The small handful of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of sticky, small, teardrop-shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid red with blue edges.

In late summer it forms giant, green berries.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
