Copperolive

This huge fruit tree grows up to 48 feet (14.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 41 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in very thick, rough, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is gray.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of giant, wide leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper or olive, with pink streaks.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, pink blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like freshly washed clothes.

In late summer it produces very large, finger-like fruit. The rough gold skin is delicate and spicy and salty, and the soft sky blue flesh is sweet and very dry. The brown seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
