Crimson Willow

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 24 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous very thick, slanted stems covered in very thick, cracked, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with large amounts of small, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are blood red and slate, flimsy and rough.

It produces copious amounts of giant, blue flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like coconut. In midwinter it forms tinycaramel, winged seeds that float and land far away.
