Copper Bine

This big bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 329 feet (100.3 meters) and growing as high as 29 feet (8.8 meters).

It takes 17 months for the copper stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 1.3 feet (41 cm) and are smooth and slick.

The slender, pointed, smooth leaves reach up to 2.5 feet (76 cm) in length. They are either azure, or caramel with magenta dots, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the bine produces lots of large light grey flowers.
