Bloodvine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 165 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, straight stems covered in fine, knobbly, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, finger-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid azure or green, with magenta patches, robust and rough.

It produces copious amounts of small, green flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like blood. In early autumn it forms smalllight brown, spiky-shelled seeds.
