Clinging Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 216 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, twisting trunk covered in silky, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.
The numerous branches are long and slender and are covered with small amounts of smooth, large, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are drab green with orange tips.
In late summer it forms large, yellow seed pods.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is bio-luminescent.
