Clinging Crimsonvine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 175 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, angular stems covered in rough, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very short and thin that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, stiff, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bright red and green, hardy and sticky.

In early summer it produces a handful of large, magenta flowers with many layers of petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon.
