Giant Fire Cactus

This colossal cactus grows up to 117 feet (35.7 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 5 pleated stems. Each stem is orange, and is covered in hundreds of flexible brilliant orange spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 26 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid white petals decorated with black dots and a aquamarine central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of many tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like honeysuckle.

The cactus's skin is thin, the faded orange flesh is smooth, and the olive sap is thin.
