Crimson Hazel Moss

This hazel or crimson moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is large, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
