Crimson Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 41 feet (12.5 meters) and growing as high as 64 feet (19.5 meters).

It takes 20 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The kidney-shaped, soft leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are cyan at the bottom and light grey with blue zig-zags at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces hundreds of average hazel flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of small seed pods.

The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for making paper
