Blue Moon Petal

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is thin, and the large, green leaves are black on the underside and are pleated with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 4 to 9 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with solid blue petals and a lilac central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 15 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has no scent, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
