Bronze Spine Cactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 58 feet (17.7 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 6 thick stems. Each stem is brown, and is covered in handfuls of fine, bronze, hair-like spines.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid blue petals and a lilac central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. It has a delicate scent that smells like fish.

The cactus's skin is tough, the pink flesh is sticky, and the purple sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
